Coffee Mates is a group that meets to drink coffee and to socialise. There are now many members of this group so Andrea books 2-3 visits to a venue and the members choose when to go.
We all have a laugh and a chat. It started as 11.00 am till 12 noon but we enjoy it so much it has extended to 12.30 pm.
The contact for the group is Andrea Sadler, tel 07927 660 408 or email email@example.com
Wednesday 24th August – Wednesday 31st August – Wednesday 14th September and Wednesday 21st September at Key Craft Garden Centre, Hucknall
July/August 2022 – The Greenhouse
Three separate groups visited this new cafe in Eastwood. We liked it a lot – everybody was very impressed.
A new venue – Oakfield Farm, Stanley Common. Good Place, lots of room plus a delicatessen etc to buy foodstuffs – which many of us did. Enjoyed by all – recommended.
We visited The Sanctuary on Toton Lane, Stapleford – always a good venue.
The Old School House, School Lane, Stanton-by-dale, Ilkeston. DE7 4QJ This was the place that we all spent a fortune on birthday cards – but equipped for the year now.
We started the new year at Damsons 2 Rectory Lane Breadsall. A good time was had by all!
Two dates at Basilia Basilia, Langley Mill – Wednesday 24th November/Wednesday 8th December – and we had Christmas Afternoon Tea outside at Felley Priory on the 15th December. It was fabulous.
October/November 2021 – Headstocks Tearoom
Three separate groups visited the Headstocks Tearoom at Brinsley in October/November. It’s a lovely little tearoom, worth a visit.

November – TIER 4 – LOCKDOWN
We are now walking and talking, taking our own coffee/snack.
October – TIER 2 – FACE TO FACE
We are currently meeting face to face, 6 at a time every Wednesday following the changing guidelines.
ZOOMING COFFEE MATES
So far I have arranged three Zoom meetings with members of Coffee Mates. I think everyone who has participated has enjoyed it. They said it was nice to speak to people face to face. We have a coffee, cup of tea or drink of water; sometimes even cake – and a laugh.
I am going to continue with a meeting every week until all members in Coffee Mates who have an email address have been included. I’ve telephoned the members who haven’t got email and we’ve had a chat; which they said they appreciated. I will continue to do this, mixing members up so we can speak to different people each time.
I would encourage other Group Contacts to try it; your members would appreciate the visual contact. Andrea
January – Trinity Farm, Awsworth
Coffee Mates found a little treasure in Awsworth – Trinity Organic Farm. Home made cakes and bread all for sale to take away. They also sell organic veg grown on the farm.
We all love it. Very cosy. The owners couldn’t have been more hospitable. We are returning in the summer for a guided tour of the farm and finishing off with coffee and cake. Yummy.
